Working with x.news™’s workspace

Today we make a stop at the workspace, which is located below the research area. Each story has its own workspace, which can be divided into additional ones if required. So you can easily work on several articles for the same story. You can resize the area by grabbing the top edge of it.

"New workspace" is the default name for workspaces. If you plan to create several workspaces double click on the name and rename it to keep the overview.

Adding more workspaces or notes within a story is easily done by clicking on the plus symbol next to the displayed titles. For instance, clicking on the plus symbol next to "Johnson & Cummings" adds a new workspace, while the titles of the notes are underneath the message field.

Adding articles to the workspace

Collect articles important to you directly in the workspace! These articles don't get lost in the flood of new incoming messages.

There are two ways to do this easily: on the one hand, you can move articles into the "pinned assets" area using drag and drop. On the other hand, you can also use the first icon in the article view, which is a downward pointing arrow. This moves the message immediately to the pinned assets.

The selected items are now visible here and if you hover over the area you may see a scrollbar for further assets already in the workspace. In addition, a small minus symbol appears in the upper right corner of the asset, so that it is easy to remove it if needed.

Adding content to the notes

Instead of adding articles to the pinned assets, you can also drag them directly into the Notes window: The complete message is inserted - including all images, texts and links. Alternatively, you can just drag or copy the images, text, or whatever content you need from the preview of the asset. The same method can be applied to all articles in the workspace.

Within the notes you can edit the displayed fonts (larger, smaller, bold, italic, stroked out or underlined). You can create a list or change the alignment of the text. You can also add these edits to other stories or workspaces.

Deleting notes is achieved with clicking on the bin in the lower right corner. The content can also be assigned to a pre defined template (second icon from the left in the toolbar).
